BIO
Sartika is an Indonesian-Australian vocalist who champions the warmest corners of R&B with her intimate, relatable songwriting. Relocating to Brisbane as an adolescent, she honed her skills by busking at festivals and markets, later working with producers and artists like Nerve, JK-47, Jay Orient, Siki Daha and Callum Pask Trio as well as the local collectives SHOKU, Accomplice Collective, Spare Time and NO.ONE NETWORK. As a solo artist and a member of supergroup BBTK, she has performed at festivals such as Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Yonder Festival, Brisbane Pride Festival and Brisbane Street Art Festival, as well as countless gigs across Queensland. Online, she has earned a healthy following for her live loop covers of classic R&B songs, where she flexes her additional skills as a producer and multi-instrumentalist. Through her emotive music, Sartika hopes to champion Indonesian culture while also healing and empowering women.

Brisbane’s rising artist Sartika is thrilled to announce the release of her highly anticipated second single, "Breakthru." This captivating track combines infectious Afrobeats with dark, ethereal trap elements, showcasing Sartika's remarkable growth as an artist. Sartika shares, "I initially wrote the song about my ex, pouring my emotions into the lyrics. However, during the course of our relationship, something incredible happened. I went through a spiritual experience that allowed me to connect with my highest self. It was a profound awakening, and that became the catalyst for the new meaning of the song."
With this newfound perspective, "Breakthru" takes on a dual nature. Sartika explains, "I wanted 'Breakthru' to have a versatile meaning. It can be a heartfelt expression of love for someone special in your life, or it can be an anthem of empowerment and self-discovery. Regardless of how you interpret it, my hope is that you enjoy the song and find your own connection to its message."
